Crisis Prep Involves More Than a Plan @ Office of O’Neill and Associates
Apr 13 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Successful crisis management recognizes that the manner in which an organization responds to the media is as important as the content of its response.  An organization that doesn’t handle reports well leaves in question its ability to manage the authorities and the victims.

Ultimately, successful crisis management greatly depends on having people share their problems, making those outside of their areas of responsibility aware at the earliest possible time of issues that could become public communications challenges.

Join IABC Boston for what is sure to be an engaging and topical presentation by Hugh Drummond, SVP Communications with O’Neill and Associates, which is holding the event in their downtown Boston office near Government Center.

Prior to the presentation, IABC Boston is hosting an on-site reception with wine and light refreshments. Please join us!

6:00 – 6:30 p.m. — Reception

6:30 – 8:00 p.m. — Presentation followed by Q&A

Presenter: Hugh Drummond

Hugh’s expertise in media relations, corporate communications, crisis management and public affairs is gleaned from positions in the private sector, nonprofits, the United States Senate and several political campaigns.  Prior to joining O’Neill and Associates, Hugh was director of communications for the Massachusetts American Red Cross, and served as spokesperson on disaster relief operations including Hurricane Katrina, the Danvers (MA) chemical plant explosion and several major fires, storms and flood emergencies.

O’Neill and Associates’ Boston office is located at Thirty-One New Chardon Street, near the Massachusetts State House and Boston City Hall, a few minutes’ walk from North Station and Haymarket Station. Paid Parking is available at the Government Center Garage at 50 New Sudbury Street. Entrances to the garage are located on New Chardon and New Sudbury Streets. There’s also street parking.

Webinar: Chatbots for Communicators @ Online
May 20 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

“Messengers are the new browsers and chatbots are the new websites.”

That’s the message from an executive at one of the leading messaging apps, and he’s exactly right. Chatbots today are where the World Wide Web was around 1992: Techies are all over them, marketers are starting to use them, and PR/communications practitioners are essentially in the dark. We’re just starting to notice some conversation about them but haven’t paid any attention to their inevitable disruptive impact on the way companies communicate with customers, employees, media, and other stakeholders.

In this dynamic, example-rich hourlong webinar, communications technology expert Shel Holtz will introduce you to chatbots and explore the implications for communicators. Shel will also provide you with a roadmap for getting started with chatbots both strategically and tactically.

Within a day or two of registering, you will receive the webinar URL, which you can use by yourself or for your entire team.

Hosted By:

shelShel Holtz first got online in 1985 and immediately saw the profound impact online communication would have on business and on business communicators. He started Holtz Communication + Technology (HC+T) in 1996 with the goal of helping organizations communicate effectively in the emerging online space using intranets to reach employees and various dimensions of the Internet to communicate with other stakeholder audiences.
