About The Presenter

Rob Levinson is the founder of Leverage Advisors, a brand consultancy based in Boston. His expertise is in helping brands – from financial services to consumer products – become their best self by using a methodology refined over 25 years that involves research, developing brand architecture, and building a strategic brand position. The former “Marketing Strategies” columnist for The Wall Street Journal, Rob is a guest lecturer at the Questrom School of Business at Boston University and a Member of the Global Advisory Council at World Brand Congress.

The Competencies & Skills Comms Leaders Need @ Northeastern University Alumni Center

Join Northeastern University for a night of networking and communications industry conversation.

Dr. Carl Zangerl is the Faculty Director of Graduate Communication and Human Resource Management programs at Northeastern University. In developing a management track for the Organizational and Corporate Communication master’s program, Dr. Zangerl and student Zorana Mihic investigated the skills and competencies required of communication leaders. They will discuss the major research findings, including:

  • Review of major trends in the communication field
  • The attributes and competences in demand for communication leaders
  • Perspectives of current leaders of the communication function
  • Educational implications

You will have the opportunity to speak with Northeastern faculty, industry professionals, and alumni from the Corporate and Organizational Communication program. Food and drinks will be served (alcoholic drinks for purchase).

About The Presenter

Carl Zangerl is an Assistant Teaching Professor and the academic director of the Master of Science in Corporate and Organizational Communication program. He designs and delivers courses on Meeting Management, Communication Assessment, Communication Networks, and Foundations of Organizational Communication. He is the co-author of several articles on meeting facilitation, organizational assessment, and meeting effectiveness. He served as the VP of Professional Development for IABC Boston for three years.

Previously, Dr. Zangerl was a principal of ZHC Partners, a strategic planning and communication firm, and the director of field and executive communications at New England Financial/MetLife. Prior to a 23-year corporate career, he taught at Stanford University and Purdue University, and he was the chief of staff to the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at New York University.
